No Plagiarism - I don't even begin to pretend I own the characters or the original settings. Please don't submit stuff to this contest that you yourself didn't make.

Details
Fanart Portion:
Read any of my fanfics (if your eyes don't start bleeding after the first few sentences, that makes you a winner in itself!) and draw a scene you like.

A person can submit as many pieces he or she wants, but a piece can only win ONCE. I will be judging the quality of the work and how faithful you've kept it to the original fanfic. Yes, I'm aware of the irony of using original and fanfic together in the same sentence.

Fanfic Portion:
There are two way to interpret to this. The first is you are free to re-interpret my drabbles and FINISHED multi-part fics. Meaning if First of Summer hasn't been completed, please don't try to re-write it.

And by re-write I mean you can take some of the basic gists, and give it a whole new twist. Like in Almost, you could uh actually write out smut between Kevin and Gwen set in the 1920's *w* I'd love you for it, not initially but I will eventually love you for it.

However, that does not mean you can just copy-paste my fics and change the adjectives and characters around.

The second interpretation is that you can write a completely new Gwevin fanfic and if I like it enough, hoshiz it can win! I am particularly fond of Dark!Obsessive!Possessive!Gwevin and Fluffy!Sweet!Adorable!Mutant!Gwevin. Alien Force is on the third because actually SEEING it is so full of win in itself because it's CANON *w*

So, after seeing people with subbies I've decided to give it a try as well. Who knows, if I like it enough, I might actually keep buying it. Plus this will be proof that I can offer subbies as prizes for an upcoming mini-self-serving fanart contest 8D

Okay, so the people who actually take the time to read my journals would know that I'm a member of the fanclub and I'm also an Admin there in charge of uploading the fanfics our members submit. Also, I am vain. Very vain, but I suppose that's a given to some extent.

With that said, I'll be holding a mini-art contest come late July or August. It won't be the huge-ass grand one I have planned for my quarter life crisis, but it'll be good practice for that.

It's going to be a simple but obviously self-serving art contest. There will be two parts: Fanart and Fanfic. I figured I might as well get the word out sooner than later than to keep extending the deadline should I not get enough entries ;A;

Imagine A World Without Filipinos

Upon first reading the title of this article I was thinking it would be another one of the "race-hating" things. Guess what? It's far more insidious than just a guy ranting about the qualities he dislikes about the Filipino people.

It may sound like the Filipinos are being praised and yes, it is a piece that heaps compliments upon us. However, what exactly are we being praised for? Our work ethic? Our biggest exporting goods: our people, our servitude?

What really, really gets to me is that all the jobs mentioned are not positions of authority: Nurses, employees, sailors. Why not doctors? Why not CEO's? Why not officers? Why is it the only times our talent and skills are being recognized is when we're working for anyone but ourselves?

If we are indeed a country that can 'influence the entire world economy', why can't we do that from our own land? Why do we have to be under someone else's employment to be recognized so?

I suppose offended is too harsh a word, maybe disappointed is more apt? I don't know, this article just depressed me greatly.

Fork in the road - an experimental fic of sorts set in the Ben 10k universe. Gwendolyn's mission comes to a 'fork' of sorts and her decision will determine the kind of Gwevin I write. Er, I mean, determine what happens next. Meaning you get two types of Gwevin in one fic, and maybe two stories but really when did I ever care about plot? 8D

Clubs I'm In

Things I did at Mangaholix:

Cosplay - Major Lynette from Rune Factory. Only one person out of the dozens who asked to take my pic recognized the character, which is pretty good considering I like obscure characters 8D Though I still question why the hell Sauron didn't win or even place at the very least D8

Got art - Yayz for being an art whore 83 I'm pleased as punch someone wanted to actually draw Corsae 8DDDD he is one helluva challenge to draw, methinks but that's why I loves the brute :3 Also, I got the original pencil art of *wolfgangraven's rendition of Wrecker and Kitty

Bought Ben 10 Season 1-3 dvd set - I only watch it for Gwen. Seriously. Gwen is so much awesome if they did a spin off of the series focusing solely on her I AM SO THERE. And if they added Kevin and Gwevin/Kwevin goodness into the mix, I will demand to bear the Man of Action team's children 8DDDD

Ate at Tokyo Cafe - Symphony FTW~ I love it so much 8D Tenchu *batangbatugan X3


Still pretty much into the Gwevin Shipping. And this list is more of a reminder for me to get my butt into gear now that the 'vacation' (i.e. Mangaholix preparation chuvaness) is over.

A Game of Hearts? - Kevin has a little 'duel' with Charmcaster. Charmcaster chooses "hearts" as the weapon of choice. Yes, I was totally inspired by Forgotten Realms comic issue 14 referring to Ishi Barasume's challenge to Jasmine over the Palladin. I will give it my own twist, I promise @ 3@ I love Gwencaster but mebbe not as much as Gwevin.)

Clubs I'm In

HOLY CRAP.

I haven't had the desire to rabidly ship a pairing in years. No, really, I'm not kidding. It's been at least half a decade since I've wanted to see two characters together. While I easily fangirl over just about any awesome villain-type character, I usually subsconsciously (alright fine, blatantly) pair said character up with me. Don't worry, all the ideas stay in my head, away from the intarwebs 8D

But now I've come across a pairing I TOTALLY want to pimp out. I don't care if you people say I'm too old to be watching cartoons (maybe I am), but Ben 10 is AWESOME.

You can only imagine my reaction when I learned it had a sequel, set five years after the last episode of the first show. YAY Hormone-raging teens FTW~ It also doesn't help that I've been toying with the notion of this pairing ever since the show introduced Kevin XD

Thank you so much for making Gwen x Kevin canon and no longer just fanon 8DDDD

I be sad panda that I couldn't find a copy of the Ben 10 series on DVD ;_; The stores were sold out and they don't know if they're going to get restocked any time soon. Or if at all.

Who just saw "All That Glitters"? 8DDD Thaaaaaaaat's right! I did! It took over 20 hours but I was able to watch it * 3* SO MUCH CUTE! SO MUCH CUTE!!!!
