Gwen stepped back, her steps slightly unsteady in the rubble.
She’d only meant to appeal to him.
To reach out in a way that wasn’t a threat or a challenge, like everyone else always seemed to do.
To do what Ben had tried and failed at so often in the past.
She didn’t know what she did.
All she had done was touch his shoulder and simply say:
“Kevin, people could be hurt.”
That was all.
She hadn’t mentioned anything about herself or him.
For an instant, he glared at her and she was fully prepared for him to snap at her.

It had been so long since Gwen had seen Ben. She was twenty-one years old now, and was living in a small town in New Jersey. She had moved here when she was only sixteen. She couldn't handle all the stress of her parents and the divorce they went through. Gwen sighed as she walked down the city streets on her way back to the penthouse she lived in. Me: So, yeah, it ain't chapter 4 of First of Summer (which I've finished btw but won't upload until I'm at least halfway done with Chapter 5). We all know that Gwen is the responsible mature one in the series. The level-headed, goody-goody, I-will-do-no-wrong-if-I-can-help-it character. But consider this: Everyone has some darkness in them, no one is born perfectly good or perfectly evil. What will it take for Gwen to acknowledge the darkness in her? Or should I say who will it take? 8DDDDD
And yes, we all know Gwendolyn wants Kevin 11,000 in all his twisted, evilness.
